The Night Watch - King Crimson - Starless And Bible Black (Box Set, Album)

Starless and Bible Black. () Red. () Starless and Bible Black is the sixth studio album by English progressive rock band King Crimson, released in March by Island Records in the United Kingdom and by Atlantic Records in the United States. Much of the album was recorded live, but edited and blended with studio : Progressive rock, experimental rock, .

If you only buy one live album by King Crimson (there are many), "The Night Watch" is perfect. Around 26 minutes of these exact recordings were supposedly used for the "Starless and Bible Black" album (after overdubbs and studio polishing), but nonetheless, "The Night Watch" is a moving piece of history from these musical heroes/5(80).

The Night Watch is the most complete version extant of the band's famous concert at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, which formed much of the basis for the Starless and /5(41).

  1.  · This release comes in a 2×digipack format in a slipcase with new sleeve notes by Robert Fripp & King Crimson biographer Sid Smith along with rare photos and archive material. The CD track 7 "Starless And Bible Black" is written as "Starless & Bible Black" on the back side of the outer slipcase. The track timings are not appearing on the release/5().

  2. This review is for the Starless and Bible Black album in general. This is album has had several "re-issues", including the new 40th, the box set live recordings of this tour called The Great Deceiver - (a must if you love this period), and The Night Watch (which is a concert recording that was used for the basis of much of this album, and part of the reason for my very favorable review.)/5().
